The Crack Chaser, Tuck Pointing and Cutting adapter plates come in two sizes and are especially designed to convert the Original Dust Muzzle, the Jaw Muzzle or the Dust Muzzle Ultra into dustless cutting tools. First, purchase the Dust Muzzle that best suits your needs and then use the cross reference on the adapter plate page of the web site to purchase the correct adapter plate for your Dust Muzzle.
How the Crack Chaser, Tuck Pointing and Cutting Adapter Plates work
The Crack Chaser, Tuck Pointing and Cutting Adapter Plate serves a dual purpose. It modifies the Dust Muzzle so it can be used on edge for cutting, crack chasing and tuck pointing and it also acts as a guide for a more accurate depth of cut. The operator has the option of adjusting the depth of cut by trimming the Dust Muzzle and cover plate to reveal the amount of blade necessary to expose the correct amount of blade needed for cutting or removing material.
The cover plates snap on to the Dust Muzzles and lock in the dust that would normally escape when using a blade or a wheel on its edge. The cover plates come with a flat side that will allow the operator to reveal between 1/2"-2" of blade depending upon the size of the blade or wheel being used.
The operator may remove more of the cover plate for greater blade depth. He then removes a similar amount of the Dust Muzzle to match the dimensions of the cover plate. See the installation instructions for complete instructions.
The Crack Chaser, Tuck Pointing and Cutting Adapter Plates will fit the following models of Dust Muzzles:
The Dust Muzzle Ultra, 5" model only
The Original Dust Muzzle, 4"-5" and 7" models
The Jaw Muzzle Universal Dust Muzzle, 4"-5" and 7" models***
***When using the Crack Chaser, Tuck Pointing and Cutting Adapter Plates with the Jaw Muzzle System, it is recommended to purchase an arbor extender, part number AE, to assure the operator that he will have sufficient room to place the blade in the middle of the Dust Muzzle.
Once a Dust Muzzle is modified to use the cover plate, it cannot be used for flat grinding again.
Applications
The Crack Chasing system is excellent for crack chasing concrete, cutting and tuck-pointing. It is also good for cutting fiberglass, plastics and other materials that create toxic dusts.
